The much-awaited Vande Bharat semi-high-speed express train, running from Jodhpur to Delhi Cantt, rolled onto the tracks on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the train via video conferencing from Banswara. At a ceremony held at Jodhpur Railway Station, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav flagged off the train for its inaugural run. Vande Bharat was scheduled to depart at 2:30 pm, but departed Jodhpur station around 3:30 pm.

Union Tourism Minister was also present.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, “Daily trains to Pune, Chennai, and Hyderabad have been operational for all of you. Years of demand have been met. We have fulfilled every promise. Now you can enjoy Vande Bharat.” Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat was also present.

According to Jodhpur’s Senior DCM Vikas Kheda, on Thursday, train number 04861 Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Inaugural Special train will leave from Jodhpur and will arrive at Jaipur station at 7.05 pm and depart at 7.10 pm. It will reach Delhi Cantt at 11.10 pm. This train will stop at Merta Road, Degana, Makrana, Phulera, Jaipur, Alwar, Rewari and Gurgaon stations on the way. The regular operation of the train will start from September 27. Let us tell you that more than 200 passengers travelled on the inaugural run.

Second Vande Bharat Express after two years
According to Senior DCM Vikas Khera, the new Vande Bharat Express train will have seven AC chair car and one executive AC chair car class coaches. The train’s color is saffron instead of white. The new Vande Bharat Express train will be the Jodhpur division’s second semi-high-speed train. Previously, the first Vande Bharat Express train began operating between Jodhpur and Sabarmati stations on July 7, 2023.

A speed trial was conducted earlier.

It is noteworthy that on Monday, a speed trial of the Vande Bharat train was conducted from Jodhpur to Nawan City. It reached a speed of 110 km per hour. The train departed from the railway station at 5:25 am and arrived in Nawan City three hours later, at around 8:25 am. Similarly, on its return journey, the train departed for Jodhpur at 8:50 am, approximately 25 minutes later, and arrived at 11:50 am. The Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week (except Tuesdays).

Paneer and Gatte ki Sabzi will be available

Passengers on the Vande Bharat train will be provided with breakfast and lunch. IRCTC has been entrusted with this responsibility. Packaged water bottles will be provided to all passengers on the train. Breakfast includes upma, gram flour chilla, biscuits, and other items. Lunch includes rice, dal, parantha, paneer ki sabzi, mixed vegetables, and Gatte ki sabzi. Furthermore, non-vegetarian food is available for passengers who order non-vegetarian food.

According to the report of Ahmedabad Mirror, a senior official of Central Railway says that this facility has been implemented on eight Vande Bharat trains running under our division and it depends on the availability of seats. Similarly, Vande Bharat will depart from Jamalpur at 3.30 pm. It will reach Bhagalpur at 4.22, Barahat at 5.02, Mandarhill at 5.16, Hansdiha at 5.38, Naunihat at 5.53, Dumka at 6.25, Rampur Hat at 7.18, Bolpur Shanti Niketan at 7.56 and Howrah at 10.05.

The special train running between Jalna and Patna will run via DDU, Prayagraj, Katni, Itarsi, Akola. This Holi special train will depart from Jalna on 6th, 10th and 15th March.

On the return journey, this train will run on 8th, 12th and 17th March. The train running between Jabalpur and Danapur will run via DDU, Prayagraj, Chheoki and Katni. This train will run from Jabalpur on 11th March and from Danapur on 12th March.

Due to non-interlocking work in Deoria, the route of many trains was changed

In order to expand the infrastructure by the Railways, non-interlock work is being done between Baitalpur-Deoria Sadar station on Gorakhpur Cantt-Bhatni railway section of Varanasi division.

Due to this, the route of some trains has been changed. The Katihar-Amritsar Express which will depart from Katihar on March 6 will be run via the changed route Siwan-Thaw-Kaptanganj-Gorakhpur Cantt instead of the scheduled route Siwan-Bhatni-Gorakhpur Cantt.

Due to the change in route, it will not stop at Deoria Sadar station. The New Delhi-Saharsa Express leaving from New Delhi on March 5 will run via the changed route Gorakhpur Cantt-Kaptanganj-Thaw-Siwan instead of the scheduled route Gorakhpur Cantt-Bhatni-Siwan.

As a result of the route change, this train will not stop at Deoria Sadar station. The Amritsar-Saharsa Express leaving from Amritsar on March 5 will run via the changed route Gorakhpur Cantt-Kaptanganj-Thaw-Siwan instead of the scheduled route Gorakhpur Cantt-Bhatni-Siwan.

Recently, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi and BJP MP Jagdish Shettar had met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav regarding the extension of Vande Bharat from Bengaluru to Dharwad to Belgaum . Only after this, it was felt that the train could be run till Belgaum. A trial run of Vande Bharat train has also been done between Dharwad and Belgaum. For this, Belgaum station is also being renovated. The Vande Bharat train which will run between Belgaum and Bengaluru will be numbered 20661 and 20662.

Recently, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi had said that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav responded positively to his request to extend the existing Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat train to Belgaum. He wrote, “A few days ago, a meeting was held in Hubli with the General Manager of South Western Region of Railways and other senior officials to discuss the pros and cons. As a result of our continuous efforts, the Union Railway Minister has taken note of the issue and responded positively. He has responded positively to extend the Vande Bharat train currently running between Bengaluru and Dharwad to Belgaum soon.”

Indian Railways has given another good news for the passengers. The Vande Bharat Express train running from Jammu Tawi to Srinagar can start in October. The national transporter has decided to run the Jammu to Srinagar Vande Bharat train which will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar. However, by the end of this year the train will be extended to Jammu Tawi.

Northern Railway General Manager Ashok Kumar Verma gave information about this in a conversation with Economic Times. He said, ‘Initially, Kashmir’s first Vande Bharat train will run between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Srinagar. The service of this semi-high-speed train is set to be extended to Jammu Tawi later this year. The railway official was asked about the possible date of starting the Vande Bharat train service between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar. On this, he said, ‘The first phase of modernization work is going on regarding the Vande Bharat train between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar. It is expected to start after its completion.’

Distance between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar is 268 km

According to the report, Ashok Verma said that the first phase of Jammu Tawi station redevelopment will be completed by August or September. After this, this train can start running in October. It is known that Vande Bharat train will cover a distance of 268 km between Jammu Tawi and Srinagar, which will take four hours. It will also be the fastest train running on this route. The responsibility of operating and maintaining the train will be given to the Northern Railway Zone. When it starts, railway passengers can experience world-class travel. People have such expectations and there is a demand to start it soon.

Actually, this month the railways have started two Vande Bharats, which have 20 coaches. Till now, Vande Bharat trains with 16 coaches and 8 coaches were running. Due to the increase in the number of coaches, now more passengers will be able to travel by these trains than before.

According to the report of ‘ET Now’, these 20 coach Vande Bharat Express will replace the currently running 16 coach Vande Bharat. These two trains have been handed over to Southern Railway (SR) and South Central Railway (SCR) zones. That is, one Vande Bharat train with 20 coaches will be operated on both these routes. These two 20 coach Vande Bharat trains will run on Thiruvananthapuram Central-Kasargod and Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad routes. Due to this, the seating capacity of these trains has now increased from 1,128 to 1440.

The Vande Bharat train running between Thiruvananthapuram Central-Kasargod is numbered 20634/20633 and it completes the journey of 588 km in eight hours and five minutes. It is the fastest train on this route and runs on all days except Thursday in half-hours. This train number 20634 departs from Trivandrum Central at 05:15 and reaches its destination at 13:20 pm. On the return journey, the train departs from Kasargod at 2:30 pm and then reaches Trivandrum Central at 22:40 pm. On the other hand, if we talk about the second train, it will run on the Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad route. This train covers a distance of 699 km in 8.35 hours. The train runs on all days except Tuesday.

Information has been received about the timing of Vande Bharat Express between Ahmedabad-Udaipur. This train will run 6 days a week, but it will not be operated on Tuesday. This train will leave from Udaipur at 6.10 am and reach Ahmedabad at 10.25 am. On the return, this train will leave from Ahmedabad at 5.45 pm and reach Udaipur at 10 pm. On the way, this train will stop for 2 minutes at only 1 station, Himmatnagar.

People associated with the tourism business in Udaipur have welcomed this initiative of Western Railways, but they have suggested that the time of the train should be fixed keeping in mind the check-in and check-out time at the hotel. The Centre has allowed its employees to travel by Tejas, Vande Bharat and Humsafar trains under Leave Travel Concession (LTC). The move comes after the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) received several suggestions from various offices/individuals regarding the admissibility of various premium trains under LTC.

The Department has looked into the matter in consultation with the Department of Expenditure and it has been decided that in addition to the existing Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains, travel in Tejas Express, Vande Bharat Express and Humsafar Express trains will now be allowed under LTC as per the eligibility of government employees, the DoPT said in an order issued on Tuesday.

Eligible central government employees availing LTC get back the expenses incurred by them on tickets for other journeys in addition to paid leave.

What is LTC service and how are the facilities

LTC (Leave Travel Concession) is an important scheme for the Central Government employees, under which they get the facility of concessional travel to their hometown or any part of India once in four years. This scheme provides an opportunity to the employees to spend time with their family through travel and enjoy the beauty of different parts of the country.

Recently, the government has made it more convenient by allowing travel in Tejas Express, Vande Bharat Express, and Humsafar Express trains under LTC. Along with this, taking a big decision in 2024, the special scheme for travel to Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Northeast region has been extended till 25 September 2026.

This initiative is not only beneficial for the employees but is also helpful in promoting tourism in the country. This scheme gives the employees an affordable and comfortable travel experience and improves their quality of life.

There is a bad news for the passengers going to visit Vaishno Devi. Indian Railways has canceled the Vande Bharat Express train between Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra for the next 50 days. Out of the two pairs of Vande Bharat services, only one pair (22439/40) has been canceled. According to Northern Railway, the train has been canceled due to yard remodeling of Jammu Tawi yard.

Vande Bharat train will not run between New Delhi and Katra from today i.e. Thursday 16 January to 6 March 2025. This semi high-speed train between the two cities is run and maintained by Northern Railway. This train is a major means of passengers going to Vaishno Devi.

When does this Vande Bharat run

The semi high-speed train runs all days of the week except Wednesday. This train departs from New Delhi at 6 am and reaches Katra at 2.05 pm. On the return journey, the train departs from Katra at 2.55 pm and reaches the national capital at 11 pm.

During its journey, the train stops at four stations en route. These include Ambala Cantonment, Ludhiana Junction, Pathankot Cantonment and Jammu Tawi. Passengers get the option of AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car in Vande Bharat Express.

To travel in AC Chair Car between New Delhi and Katra, a passenger has to pay Rs 1665, while the ticket for Executive Chair Car costs Rs 3055. This train was inaugurated by Home Minister Amit Shah.

On Wednesday, the trial run of the Mumbai Central to Ahmedabad Vande Bharat sleeper train was successfully completed. This high-speed train covered the distance from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in just 6 hours and 21 minutes. The decision on where exactly this train will run from and to will be taken by the Railways.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train left Ahmedabad at 7:29 am on Wednesday and reached Mumbai Central at 1:50 pm. The Vande Bharat Train (Sitting) running between Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central takes 5 hours 25 minutes. While the Shatabdi Express covers the distance in 6 hours 35 minutes and the Duronto Express in 6 hours 50 minutes. Other trains take more than 7 hours to complete this journey.

Meanwhile, considering the distance of 180 km between Mumbai-Ahmedabad, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will run with sleeper berths. During the trial, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train ran at a speed of 130 km per hour. According to a Railway official, the first Vande Bharat sleeper train in Maharashtra is likely to run from Nagpur to Mumbai and Nagpur to Pune.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will have facilities like comfortable berths, clean and modern toilets, high-speed WiFi, foldable tables, reading lights, high-speed mobile and laptop charging points. This sleeper train will run faster than Rajdhani, Tejas, Shatabdi trains. These trains are specially designed for long-distance travel. Therefore, the ticket price of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is also likely to be 10 to 15 percent higher than Rajdhani and Tejas trains.

This train runs on all days of the week except Wednesday. This train departs from New Delhi at 6 am and reaches Katra at 2.05 pm. On its return journey, the train departs from Katra at 2.55 pm and reaches the national capital at 11 pm.

The railways have modified one Vande Bharat train and five other fully air-conditioned trains to suit the climatic conditions of the valley. The specialty of these trains is that they will be able to run seamlessly, especially during the winter months.

Vistadome will also continue

A railway official said, ‘Currently six trains are running in the valley. These trains also include a Vistadome. All these trains will also continue to run. Apart from these, Vande Bharat and two other trains have been added.’

Ministry created Jammu Railway Division

Meanwhile, to strengthen rail operations in the region, the ministry has created a new Jammu Rail Division and PM Modi will lay its foundation stone on Monday. In another development, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav shared a video of the newly built sleeper version of the Vande Bharat train. The video shows the train undergoing speed testing, with the train running at a speed of 180 kmph.

The railways said in a statement that the Vande Bharat Sleeper train has achieved the maximum speed in several of its trials over the last three days. The trials will continue till the end of this month before this world-class long-distance travel becomes available to rail passengers across the country, the Railway Ministry said.

Here the train will undergo oscillation trials for two months, in which speeds up to 160 kmph will be tested.” Although the prototype should have been ready in October itself, it is not ready for trials yet.

Features of the train

• Each train set will have 16 coaches.
• There will be a total of 823 berths in 1AC, 2AC and 3AC.
• The operating speed will be 160 km/h and the test speed will be 180 km/h.

Future expectations

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said in March 2024 that this train would be ready in 6 months. Its prototype was launched in September. Now it is expected that after the completion of testing, it can be operational in early 2025.

The Kashmir Rail Link, which is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, will be operational by the first week of January 2025. After this one can travel directly from Delhi to Srinagar without any hindrance. Union Minister Jitinder Singh gave this information to ‘X’. “The train from Delhi to Kashmir will start in the first week of January 2025,” he wrote. The service is expected to be launched with the high-speed Vande Bharat sleeper train, which will revolutionize connectivity in the region.

The overnight journey, which will cover a distance of over 800 km, will be completed in less than 13 hours. Passengers will board the train in Delhi at 7:00 PM and reach Srinagar at 8:00 AM, making it a good alternative to air travel. Major stops on the Delhi to Srinagar route include Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jammu Tawi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. The project will boost tourism, improve trade and improve connectivity between Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of the country.

The USBRL project, a challenging engineering feat, involves the construction of state-of-the-art bridges and tunnels through difficult terrain. This shows the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. Indian Railways has launched a 20-coach Vande Bharat train soon. Two such trains made at the Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF) were handed over to Southern Railway a few days ago.

Trains running between Thiruvananthapuram to Mangaluru and Tirunelveli to Chennai may get priority. Both of these are 8-coach trains and a huge crowd of passengers is seen in them. It is believed that both of these will be replaced by 20-coach trains.

Talking about other news related to railways, a case of saving a lion by a loco pilot has come to light. A loco pilot of Bhavnagar division of Gujarat in Western Railway saved the life of a lion by applying emergency brakes on Monday. Divisional Railway Manager Ravish Kumar said that loco pilot Ram Bahadur Verma, assistant loco pilot Mohammad Hanif Khan saw an Asiatic lion walking very close to the railway track on the bridge above bridge number 28 between Liliya Mota-Sawarkundla section. They stopped the train by applying emergency brakes. At the time of the incident, the goods train was going towards Pipavav Port. After this, the forest department was informed about the lion.

According to various media reports, the New Delhi-Srinagar Vande Bharat train may start in January next year. This train will cover a distance of more than 800 km between Delhi and Srinagar. This journey will be completed in just 13 hours. During this time, passengers will be able to see many beautiful places of the valley.

This train will depart from New Delhi at 7 pm and then travel overnight to reach Srinagar at 8 am. During this time, the train can stop at stations like Ambala, Ludhiana, Jammu, Katra. During this time, it will also pass through the world’s highest railway bridge built on the Chenab River. The height of this bridge is about 359 meters, which is higher than the Eiffel Tower in Paris. This is the world’s highest railway bridge.

It is believed that this train will not be a chair car, but will be the Vande Bharat Sleeper which will be launched soon. The sleeper version has been made for long distance travellers. Especially, for overnight travel. Passengers will be able to travel comfortably all night on this train while sleeping comfortably. Although, Indian Railways has not yet made an official announcement, but it is likely that it may be announced soon.

Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Bhattacharya said electrification of railway lines in Tripura has been completed, paving the way for Vande Bharat Express to start from Agartala railway station. “I have been told that electrification of tracks, a pre-condition for the introduction of trains like Vande Bharat Express, has already been completed. So far I know that Vande Bharat service will be launched from Agartala in the next few months, which can be seen as a significant connectivity boost for a state like Tripura,” Bhattacharya said.

He heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing about a transformation in the connectivity sector of the Northeast. The MP said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a new identity to the Northeast. Tripura was one of the most neglected states in this part of the country. After PM Modi came to power, he brought broad gauge connectivity to Tripura in 2016 – in just two years. Today, railway connectivity has extended to Sabroom, the farthest corner of South Tripura district.”

Let us tell you that in May last year, the Prime Minister inaugurated Assam’s first Vande Bharat Express, which connects Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri (West Bengal). NFR has electrified 64% of its network.

is being run between Delhi and Patna. This train, which started today, will cover a total journey of 994 km in 11 hours and 35 minutes. Let us tell you that the Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express takes 11 hours and 55 minutes while the New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Tejas Rajdhani covers the same distance in 11 hours and 30 minutes.

Patna Delhi Vande Bharat Express Timings

This train will depart from Delhi at around 8:25 am and will reach Delhi at 7 pm. During this time, this train will stop at Kanpur, Prayagraj, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar and Ara. This train will depart from Patna at 7:30 am and will reach Ara Junction at 7:10 pm. After this, this train will reach Patna at 8 pm.

There will be no sleeper coaches in this special train.

However, this special Vande Bharat train will not have sleeper coaches. Passengers will have to travel sitting only. Railway officials say that the sleeper Vande Bharat train is currently in the trial phase. After the trial is completed, it will be made regular.

Know the fare of Patna Delhi Vande Bharat. The fare of this special Vande Bharat train will be more than the third AC of Tejas Express. The fare of SC chair car is Rs 2575, while the fare of AC executive chair car is Rs 4655. Food and drink facility is also included in this. It is worth noting that on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath, the railway has announced many special trains. The railway is running 283 festival special trains on different routes. However, this Vande Bharat Express running from Delhi to Patna as a special train will run on the longest route.

The train will cover a distance of 994 km

The Vande Bharat Special train running between Delhi and Patna will cover the distance of 994 km in about 11.5 hours. The special train will make 8 trips between Delhi and Patna. If we talk about the time table, this train will run from New Delhi to Patna on 30 October, 1 November, 3 November and 6 November. On the other hand, this train will return from Patna on 31 October, 2 November, 4 November and 7 November.

This special train has been given the number 02252. The train will depart from New Delhi Railway Station at 8:25 am and reach Patna at 8 pm. On the way, this train will stop at Kanpur Central, Prayagraj, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar and Ara. On the return journey, this train will depart from Patna Junction at 7:30 am and reach New Delhi at 7 pm.

How much will be the fare of this train

Keeping in mind the festive season, the fare of this train has also been kept accordingly. Tickets are sold out in high demand. The fare of this special Vande Bharat train running from Delhi to Patna will be Rs 2,75 for chair car and Rs 4655 for AC executive chair car.

To ensure that long distance passengers do not face any problem in travelling, Railways has now announced to run Vande Bharat and Tejas trains from Delhi to Bihar and UP. Let us tell you that about 3000 special trains are already running on different routes.

People going home to celebrate the festival are not getting confirmed tickets in trains. Be it sleeper coach or AC coach, there is no space in any category. Trains going towards the east are the most crowded.

This is causing inconvenience to passengers. For their convenience, the railways are running special trains. In this series, the Northern Railway has announced to run semi high speed Vande Bharat Express and special Tejas Express for Patna.

New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Festival Special Express (02252/02251)

This special Vande Bharat Express will depart from New Delhi at 8.25 am on October 30, November 1, 3 and 6 and will reach Patna at 8 pm on the same day. On the return journey, this special train will depart from Patna at 7.30 am on October 31, November 2, 4 and 7 and will reach New Delhi at 7 pm on the same day. On the way, it will stop at Kanpur Central, Prayagraj, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar and Ara railway stations. Eight chair car coaches will be installed in this special Vande Bharat Express.

New Delhi-Patna Tejas Festival Special (02248/02247)

Festival Special Tejas Express will depart from New Delhi at 8.25 am on October 29 and 31, November 2 and 5 and reach Patna at 8.30 pm on the same day. On return, it will depart from Patna at 7.30 am on October 30, November 1, 3 and 6 and reach New Delhi at 7.35 pm on the same day. En route, it will stop at Kanpur Central, Prayagraj, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Buxar and Ara railway stations. It will have unreserved, sleeper and AC class coaches.

This year the Railways is running 2944 trains.

Indian Railways has given a big relief to those going home during the festive season. In view of the problems faced by the passengers, the Railways is running special trains on different routes. Last year, from October 1 to November 30, Northern Railways had run a total of 1082 special trains.

This time 2944 festival special trains are being run. More than 80 percent of these trains are being run for Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. This is 1862 more than last year. So that passengers do not have to face problems during the journey.

Vande Bharat trains are facing a shortage of passengers on these routes, due to which plans are being made to stop the operation of Vande Bharat. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated more than half a dozen Vande Bharat Express trains. However, the number of passengers on all routes is not encouraging. According to the latest report, the Secunderabad-Nagpur Vande Bharat train is running almost empty, with more than 80 percent of seats vacant.

The situation of the Secunderabad-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express is worrying. According to railway officials, only 20 percent of passengers have travelled on this route. On September 22 (Sunday), train number 20102 departed from Secunderabad to Nagpur with more than 1,200 seats vacant. The total capacity of the train is 1,440 seats. Apart from this, less than 10 passengers had booked the 88-seater executive.

According to a media report , due to a decrease in the number of passengers, the authorities may consider discontinuing the operation of the Secunderabad-Nagpur Vande Bharat Express. This train was launched on September 16. Railway officials have said that if the passenger count remains low, the number of coaches will be reduced. Currently, this train is running with 20 coaches, but a decision can be taken to reduce it to 8 coaches. In such a situation, the number of seats will be reduced significantly. Through this train, the railways aimed to connect the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra with Ramagundam, Kazipet and Secunderabad, so that local people can take advantage of business, family or tourism related travel.

Meanwhile, Indian Railways plans to introduce the sleeper version of Vande Bharat Express in the coming days, for which preparations are in full swing. Vande Bharat trains are getting positive response from the public and passengers are eager to travel on these new trains. Now it remains to be seen how passengers react to Vande Bharat Sleeper.

This train will be equipped with luxury facilities

The 16 coach Vande Bharat Sleeper train will have 823 berths, which include 11 3AC coaches (611 berths), 4 2AC coaches (188 berths), and 1 1AC coach (24 berths). Vande Bharat Sleeper train is being built on the lines of Europe’s Nightjet sleeper trains. In this train, LED strips will light up on the floor under the stairs for passengers going to the toilet when the lights are off at night. Apart from this, there will also be a separate berth for the train attendant.

The first Vande Bharat sleeper train has been developed by BEML and Hyderabad-based Medha Servo Drives Ltd. The development has included design inputs from Poland-based European rail consultant EC Engineering. Each sleeper berth will have reading lights, charging sockets, a mobile/magazine holder and a snack table.

Features of Vande Bharat Metro

The specialty of this train will be that it will reach the speed of 100 kmph in less time than the current Vande Bharat, i.e. its pick-up time has been reduced further. The current Vande Bharat Express takes 52 seconds to reach the speed of 100 kmph from zero, but the Vande Bharat Metro has been designed in such a way that it reaches the speed of 100 kmph from zero in 45 to 47 seconds. But its maximum speed has been kept lower than the current Vande Bharat Express. Currently its speed is 180 kmph but the speed of Vande Bharat Metro is 130 kmph. Since the stations of Vande Bharat Metro will be close to each other, there will be no need to maintain a very high speed.
