Preparations for Maha Kumbh are going on in full swing in Prayagraj. Ayodhya Schools Winter Vacation: When will schools open in Ayodhya?

Ayodhya, famous for Ram Mandir, is also experiencing severe cold (Ayodhya ka Mausam). Due to the cold wave alert, all schools from class 9 to 12 have been ordered to remain closed from 7 to 13 January 2025. According to District School Inspector Dr. Pawan Kumar Tiwari, a notice has been issued to close all schools on the orders of the District Magistrate. Kanpur School News: Online study is going on in Kanpur.

Cold and melting continues in the Manchester of East Kanpur (Kanpur ka Mausam). Schools up to class 8 will remain closed here till January 11, 2025. After that there will be holiday on Saturday-Sunday and then on Tuesday there will be a holiday in the schools on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. Students from class 9 to 12 in Kanpur are completing their syllabus through online study. An orange alert for fog has been issued in Kanpur till January 9, 2025.

Some schools in NCR adjoining Delhi i.e. Noida and Ghaziabad were going to open from Monday, 6 January 2025. But in view of the cold and fog, it has been decided to keep the schools closed here as well for the time being. Online classes are being conducted in many private schools of Noida. Due to increasing cold in Meerut, winter vacation has been announced from 7 to 11 January 2025. Meerut’s Basic Education Officer Asha Chaudhary has sent a letter to all the schools in this regard.

Along with this, schools will remain closed this week in most of the districts including Agra, Mathura, Firozabad, Fatehpur, Gorakhpur.

After Punjab, school holidays have been extended in many districts of Uttar Pradesh due to cold. Due to severe cold and cold wave in many districts, DMs have given instructions to keep schools closed. DMs of Agra, Mathura, Gorakhpur, capital Lucknow and some other districts have given instructions to keep all schools from class 1 to 8 closed.

In Agra, the DM has given instructions that all schools from class 1 to 8 will remain closed till January 14. Talking about Mathura, there are instructions to keep schools of CBSE, ICSE and all other boards closed till January 14. While in Gorakhpur, there are instructions to keep schools closed till January 6. In the capital Lucknow, the DM has given instructions to keep schools closed till January 11. These orders are applicable to all Hindi and English medium schools recognized by CBSE, ICSE and other boards.

As per the orders of Lucknow DM Suryapal Gangwar, no holidays have been declared in schools from 9th to 12th. According to the letter, it is the responsibility of the school administrators to make all arrangements to protect them from cold in such schools. Along with this, the District Magistrate has directed the students not to sit outside for classes/practicals and examinations.

Rain warning

Two western disturbances in Jammu and Kashmir are likely to worsen the situation in North India due to rain. The Meteorological Department has predicted cloudy weather on Saturday. Along with this, there is a possibility of rain in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi NCR in the next 48 hours. The weather in Punjab may change from this evening.

Cyclone and heavy rain warning

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rains in Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas due to a cyclone forming in the Bay of Bengal. On Wednesday morning, the deep pressure area formed in the southwest of the Bay of Bengal took the form of a cyclonic storm.

This cyclone is moving in a north-northwest direction and is likely to intensify further in the next 12 hours. Due to this, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Karaikal, Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu and surrounding areas of Tamil Nadu.

Main affected districts

• Heavy to very heavy rain likely: Chennai, Villupuram, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu.
• Extremely heavy rain likely: Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Karaikal areas.
• Other affected areas: Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Ariyalur, Pudukottai and Pondicherry.

The Meteorological Department has advised the local administration and citizens to remain alert. Officials have appealed to people not to travel unnecessarily and stay in safe places.

The RMC has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu for the next three days due to this deep depression. A red alert has already been issued for several districts on November 28 and 29.

CM Stalin’s meeting with Collector and officials

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday convened a meeting with district collectors and surveillance officials to assess the state’s preparedness for heavy rains and a possible cyclone forecast by the weather department. State Revenue Minister K.K.S.R. Ramachandran and Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam also attended the virtual meeting. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Tamil Nadu government confirmed that the Chief Minister reviewed precautionary measures in sensitive districts including Mayiladuthurai, Villupuram, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur and Cuddalore.

The Supreme Court has entrusted the responsibility of opening schools to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). The Supreme Court said, ‘Now the CAQM will further decide whether the school should be opened at this time or not.

It is believed that schools may reopen in Delhi-NCR, as the Supreme Court has allowed the CAQM to consider resuming physical classes. The Supreme Court has drawn attention to the lack of access to mid-day meals and online education. The Supreme Court also said that from November 18 to 23, the Delhi government has allowed such trucks to enter in violation of the guidelines of GRAP-4. On the issue of pollution, the Supreme Court reprimanded the Centre, CAQM i.e. Air Quality Management Commission and asked why the negligence on 23 points?

What did the Supreme Court say about the ban on the entry of trucks in Delhi?

During the previous hearing, the Supreme Court had directed the police to set up checkpoints at 113 entry points in Delhi and sought the recording and details of CCTV cameras at 13 entry points of heavy vehicles like trucks. During the hearing in this regard today, the court commissioner appointed by the Supreme Court said that there were no barricades at many points and the staff was not visible at many places.

Senior advocate Gopal Shankarnarayanan told the court that the AQI is currently 600 in Delhi. On this, the Supreme Court asked to show the Commissioner’s report. The Supreme Court said that without seeing the report we can say that there is still no check point. The Supreme Court said, ‘We wanted to know whether there are such check posts. Who restricts the entry of such trucks?

On this, the Supreme Court said that it is negligence to deploy police at 23 points and not to deploy at others. The Supreme Court asked, ‘Okay, then should we file a case against the Delhi Police Commissioner?’ We will ask CAQM to issue show cause notices to all the agencies mentioned here. Also they will be asked to prosecute.

Along with this, a yellow alert has been issued for Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Chitradurga, Davanagere and Tumkuru districts.

Starting with UP, in view of the heavy rain warning issued by the Meteorological Department, holidays have been declared for schools from class 1 to 8 in many districts including Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Bahraich, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur. The Meteorological Department has predicted that due to Yagi cyclone, there may be heavy rain in the state for two-three days. Orders to keep the schools closed have been issued by the District Magistrates.

The holiday order issued by the District Magistrates will be applicable to all council and recognized schools. All the block education officers of the districts have been instructed to strictly follow the order. It has been raining intermittently in Pratapgarh since morning.
